DECORUM !!!!!!!!!!!

Was appointed as a Travel and Business Development Consultant with a Travel Company which has won consistently World's Leading Tour Operator existing since 1906. Was all excited to handle this protfolio because of the glamour and the Tag associated of being the BEST in the Industry. I hail from a Corporate world - of Public Sector of Fortune 500. I had younger seniors as my reporting team and perhaps that is the reason that gave them the liberty to flaunt their youth and flamboyancy in office. (In Bangalore). They lacked all the dignity, finesse, efficiency, class that would normally go for this portfolio and the status they enjoyed in this highly esteemed Travel Company. To top it all they exuded very cheap behaviourial patterns in the office viz. openly smooching and flirting with their sub-ordinate female counter parts in the office(entertainment for the full view of the staff and other senior officers). It was a great shock for me as I had never seen or experienced in full view such a disgusting behaviour from such responsible officers in my entire career life not in the office. I have heard from my aquaintances that such things do prevail in BPOs and other private firms. What pained me more was that none of the officers or the staff members dared to bring this to the notice of their Superiors. I hold them equally responsible to be part of this because they allowed it to happen. I was asked to leave the office because I was not party to this, I complained this to their MD of India Unit who was very appreciative of my gesture and wanted to offer me a permanent posting in the Organisation. Which I did not accept because I was not fit for that atmosphere.
I am sure many of you will say what is new in this , this happens in every office and every where in the world. I feel today what is happening around us in India and around the world is the result of our insensititiveness towards any small incident that we let go in or day to day life. The problem then rises to such a magnitude that the governments of any country is finding it out of their hands to tackle. We always blame the laws, the protectors etc. (I am not saying that they all are saints in their performance) but did we have or rather gathered guts to expose that wrong to the right person at the right place.................... If the non-Maharashtrains tolerate the eccentricities of the Thackerays dumb-founded they are going to suffer more and more.(but Raj Thackeray must have had a reason to react in such a manner let us not get into the nitty-gritty of it) but the minorities in Maharashtra should react and put a front that we are FIRST INDIANS and then what ever community we belong to and as an Indian no one can drive me out of my motherland unless I am proved a traitor.

Now the point to be noted here which is very interesting is that whether we are Maharashtrians or whichever community, we very readily and eagerly relish and enjoy the culinaries of ,Punjab,Gujarat, Marwari,Bihari,British,French,,Chinese, Italian etc. etc. their toys, gadgets, furniture ,cars, schools, education, movies etc.etc. Is it possible for us to do away with all these OUTSIDE things and influence from their life????? Specially now that the globe has become a small village!!Every action and every step is somewhere or another connected to someone outside or someone nearby....we are all linked and interlinked.............I think it is high time we came out of our sheltered, mental blocked, small cocooned universe and see beyond the mars, moons and jupiters......in connotation of coexistence..............

I feel the points discussed were quite true and happens in every corporate world - specifically in BPOs. People think it a cultural trend and mis-understand their behavioural sense. I find your points were valid..but could not stop anything from happening as we do not have any control in this sociecty - nor the society has control..
